Davidson County invites you to explore the beautiful four seasons of our countryside, our charming cities of Lexington, Thomasville, Denton, Midway, and Wallburg and our surrounding communities. There are many ways that Davidson County residents make a difference in the area where they live by becoming active in our schools, civic clubs, the arts, local charities, or participating in outdoor recreation activities. The variety of activities that happen in Davidson County serve as a deep connection that our community members have enjoyed for many years.
Our county has a sense of history that dates back to the days of Daniel Boone where he used the cave along the Yadkin River to hide from area Indians. That cave is now called Boone’s Cave Park. The county is also rich in Civil War history, including the county’s 1858 courthouse which was used as a barracks for Yankee soldiers.
